Make this happen !!!, glam rock revival rant

Hi Greg,
I agree with you about promoting and talkin' about all these bands we love. But I think that most of the glamsters users on this board, have their own little private collection like you said and that they're talkin', sharin' a lot with each other and so doin' all they can to promote bands.
Personnaly I tried to speak the most I can of my passion for that music, the bands & so on, on various website (www.hardrock80.com : which is a french website dedicated to all kind of hardrock/metal music : I'm always givin' news, doin' reviews of albums/shows on this one), and/or tryin' to share with most of people.
I'm not in the music business, just a fan. And I often have the occasion to meet fans at shows, on boards. I think that glam community is small (or underground) but it keeps on livin' well and there's a huge fanbase.
When I'm doin' boots trade with american people who are into great 80's bands (like Poison, Kix, Cinderella), I always talk to them about the actual european scene : Scandinavian bands, italian bands, UK bands & so on. When I'm goin' to Spain, if my friends who are into Backyard babies and Velvet Revolver, don't know classic stuff (to me) like Pretty Boy Floyd, Vain, Big Bang Babies then I tried to come with one or two cd copies. Like that I met new friends at the Backyard show in Barcelona, who came that the Glam Slam.

All these 3 ones album can be find easily on the web for few euros/$ & I personnaly just discovered Jerry Vayne album recnetly coz of Glitzine...
So I just wanted to say that I keep on discovering many bands becoz of Glitzine and of the people who makes this site/board essential.

And I totay agree with Andii, Hollywood scene was great/there're still some interesting bands but what about Bastardz from Brazil, Starry eyes from Italy, Robin Black & the IRS from Canada, the Highschool Motherfuckers from France, Hell City Glamours from Australia, Vains of Jenna from Sweden... tons of awesome bands all around the globe !

Exactly! We have glam bands from all over and we do our best to promote it here too.

As for Jerry Vayne.. man, I miss that guy BIG time... a regular poster here once and in my opinion, a great friend and always will be and his album smokes!

We do our best here to keep the flame alive.

Does England have any Glam bands left? I can't think of any except the Darkness (If they even count lol)

The 80's Glam revival started in Soho London in 1982. There was not a Yank in sight for months.

Got to agree with Andii, Marc etc. This board does a great job of spreading the glam/sleaze word. Have to agree with Andii about hollywood not being the only scene. As Buttz stated the UK scene in the 80's was great ( I was often found in London, Newcastle & many other places) on the weekend. Scandanavia has a pretty happening scene at the moment if i remember rightly

Unfortunately all I am famailiar with is the stuff that came from the 80s. If anybody wants to share anything or suggest anything I am all ears. In my house or at my work its ALWAYS ROCK.

I agree, Hollywod had it's time, Europe seems to be doin much better now than the U.S., look at Sweden and the Backyrad Babies, I had worked like 20 hours the past couple days, had a couple drinks....a lil tired,,,a lil insane in my rant.........,however there are some traders out there who only care about making there own collections better and nothin else,(this is where the anger comes from)........anyways, i am excited to say i am starting to see somethin starting to build in the states, w/ Crue, VR and more importantly I think Liquor and Poker Music, I think maybe the time is now, and i think it may take everyone Fans, Musicians, Promoters, Labels - all doing their part, every little thing counts, thats all

Hollywood?...Canada IMO has some of the coolest Glam/Sleaze bands of late to come out.

To name a few. I do my best to spread the word of cool bands to people. A lot of ppl on this board, myself included, trade or give stuff to people that we think is cool.

Music goes in cycles. Right now the whole new wavey Killers, Hot Hot Heat, Interpol bands are the flavour of the labels. Glam/Trash rock is gradually making a comeback. There needs to be one band to push it over the edge as with any genre. The new Black Halos CD from what I've heard so far sounds awesome.

Andii, Isn't the only musician from the UK Rick Astley?...ROFL
